"Could it stop working?" A DAT can ALWAYS stop working. Yes I would go for a non-DAT recorder. I have had DAT fail on me in many situations. Best not to push your luck. You could take it and see how it does, but definitely take a backup. If you're ready to get a 722 then 'now's the time!' It's a winner. I found the FR2 to be quite rugged as well. Based on that fact the FR2LE should be rugged as well and would therefore be a cheaper option if you so desired one. Danny |
