i have had a lot of problems with DAT in tropical countries in the  
past and anything that tips over 90% humidity. i even know someone  
who actually had to "splice" a dat tape because of mold!
maybe it is time for you to pick up one of the excellent 7* series  
recorders... i have used these recorders in 100% humidity and down to  
-30f. Great machines.....
