Hi Rob,

I'm using an old version Peak and Audacity. I find Audacity's
sonogram view is great for editing recordings but l miss the ability
to preview processing in real time.

Thanks for the advice re Uniquel-izer. I'm tempted by the LE
version, but having purchased a cheapish mic then recently upgraded
to a ME66 I'm aware of the costs involved in buying twice.

I've also decide to take a look at JAMin, which got a favorable
mention in an informative post on use of EQ and compression made to
the list last year:

obligatory "on-topic" content:

I submit a short clip of my first attempt at recording frogs. I got
trapped by meters on the RH1 understating the peak levels so the
calls are somewhat clipped. yet another lesson learned. The calls in
the foreground are Southern Brown Tree Frog (Litoria ewingii) with
Common Froglet (Crinia signifera) in the background.
