MKH30/40 You won't look back - the extra clarity is remarkable, and your R04 doesn't have such a bad rap either. I used the 30/40 into a HiMD until I improved the recorder and I'm glad I went that way, even though I'm not mainly a soundscape guy. The HD-P2 and others you mention seem to be on a par with the R04, so why spend you own money on a sideways move when you have access to that level of recorder anyway? Plus the luxury of the other two channels - you might point antoher cardioid backwards and mess about with surround! |
