It's that attitude that has gotten the human race in trouble. The idea
that humans are not part of nature, not subject to the rules of nature,
etc. Humans are another species of animal.

I should point out at this point that if your preferred subjects are
manmade sounds that there is a yahoo group that's probably more
appropriate for you. That's the phonography group, they don't draw the
sharp line you are expressing. That group was founded by some folks who
initially joined naturerecordists, but realized fairly soon that their
interests were not the same as naturerecordists. Rather than try to push
nature recordists to fit them, they founded an appropriate group. I'm a
member of that group, and even though I'm not interested in recording
human noise, I find their perspective interesting and in some ways
refreshing. (It's also a group that you won't find near as much
technical stuff)

This is what I enjoy too. My point was about the misrepresentation we do
when we produce "clean" recordings. And speculation on how appropriate
this is. I'm talking about human produced sounds that are incidental to
our recording, not ones we have the human produced sounds as our subjects.
