Hi
Normally say on a sound desk you have two controls on the input to
the channel, Gain and Trim. The gain is usually in something like 6dB
steps with a trim giving you a + or - 10dB. that way you can balance
up the levels.
It sounds as if Fostex have come up with different take on it.
