David, (I'm intrigued - what's a "toilet test") ? I posted a similar
question the other day on the use of the FR2LE trims but got no
answer so did some tests of my own using a metronome. I'm not very
good at this sort of stuff but I think my conclusions were that there
is a multiplicative relationship between the trims and the gain and
that the optimum setting was with the trim at about 90%, beyond that
I noticed machine noise of some sort being introduced which then gets
amplified as you turn up the gain setting. But I'd love to hear your
(and others) conclusions on the trade-off in the use of these
controls.
