So there must be some way to do it. http://froglogger.coquipr.com/howto-himd.html seems to indicate it does, and a quick trial this morning shows that a 18k+680R + 330R does indeed set the deck into record-pause mode from a cold start, which is nice. However, what stiffs that for my application is the automatic setting of AGC - I still can't navigate the menus, and a RH1 is a little bit too expensive to leave in the woods (the RH1 doesn't default to AGC). AGC doesn't seem to trouble the froglogger guy though. I wouldn't use relays myself, but otherwise his design seems to fit the bill. |
