Can't vouch for the ME66 but I have and use a ME67/K6 into a FR2 and MZNH900 and MZRH1 and could not describe it as a "nosiy" mic in anyway and actually quite the contrary. I did have a problem with it into the FR2 as previously discussed but this appears to have been due to a fault with the phantom power output on the FR2 that has now been fixed. It cannot compete with my Telinga Pro6/Twin Science in terms of reach and is practically useless in strong winds whereas the Telinga with the windshield is quite amazing IME. To imply that the ME/K6 Series are "shlocks" of mics I feel is unfair as most recordists on a budget will be turning to them and they will provide perfectly useable service and give decent results in most situations IMHO.
