another windpack question

Subject: another windpack question

hi again,
i=B4m thinking right now if i should buy a rycote windshield or the
windpack.
i know that this have been discussed here largely, but there is one
point i didn=B4t get an answer by searching the forum.
i don=B4t know jet if i buy the sanken css5 or the mkh30/40 or 30/50. i =

will make a comparison in the mid of next week and then i will decide.
the thing is, that if i have a windshield, i don=B4t want to build it
up everytime i want to record something. i want my mic to be in the
windshield, all the time,
because i think its save in the windshield (is it?) and it saves
nerves if you just want to go out recording, and you don=B4t have to
build up the whole system.
just grab the windshield (with the mic in it) and the recorder and
off you go. (thats what i=B4m thinking.)

I know the rycote windshields and they are somewhat robust. but the
windpack looks like its not build for that.. and its MUCH bigger, right?
the windpack looks like if you have it in a bag and there are other
things in it, it can be damaged.
the thing which i like about the windpack, is that i can get it
smaller for the journey when i=B4m traveling into another country.

so, any of the windpack users here can tell me if the windpack is as
robust as the rycote, and you can grapple it in a bag without it
getting damaged, or use it the way i told i want to use it?
and is it really bigger than a rycote?

thanks a lot!
