Hi

The really big difference the MZ RH-1 has over previous recorders is
that it remembers the last state you were in when recording. So if you
were in manual record level. The next time you turn on and go into
record it remembers and you will find yourself in manual record again.
Which is a real boon, as before on previous models you had to go
through the menus to select it again.
The other big advantage it has over all previous Hi-MD machines is it
will allow you to upload to your computer any recordings made with
previous models of mini-disc that were recorded using line-in or
microphone. Oh and for us Apple computer fans SonicStage is now
compatible.

Here is a link to a review of the MZ RH-1:

Some more info here:

The MZ-200 is the 'pro' version of the MZ RH-1 and comes with a
microphone and a few other bits and pieces, I would go for the RH-1
myself.

Take a look here:

Recorder.html

As for the disks have you looked on ebay?
