There's a 12 pin DIN connector on the bottom end of the Ares PII+. 
Nagra offers XLR to 12 pin cables for both one and two channel
recording.  The Ares PII+ provides 48V phantom power to mics attached
in this way.  

At the top end of the PII+, there's a socket for a mic capsule.  Nagra
offers mono and stereo electret condenser mic capsules for this socket.

[rant] "Nagra offers" is a nice way of saying you have to pay extra
for this item. Even a $200 digital camera comes with a manual and a
wrist strap.  You'd think that you'd get these items with the $2900
PII+, but nooooo, they're optional. [/rant]
