The 7xx series needs a hardware update to use the firewire port for externa=
l
recording. If you don't have a sticker on your unit announcing "v2.0
compatible" then you need the hardware update for full v2.0 functionality.

Sorry for being so dense, but what was the reason for sending the 722
back to SD re: firmware. I updated my 722 to v2.03 but I'm wondering
what I am missing.
