Hi Martyn, I had this problem in firmware 1.74. Then I sent the unit back. SD replaced with a new internal AA battery, updated to firmware 2.03. They said the internal AA battery is faulty. But even with the new internal AA battery, my 744t also asks me to reset the bloody date every time I turn on the 744t!! I have already sent back the 744t back to SD again yesterday. I thought that I may be the only one. So, there may be something wrong.
