I need to add...... the quality of the recordings aside,
the most striking feelings I got from the piece was your obvious empathy with
the subject & sensitive presentation thereof.
I work with students of technical theatre and extol the virtues of 'the
emotional link with the product'
This recording clearly shows your understanding and emotional link with, and
respect for, your subject in the very presentation of the material and stands
as a superb example of the link between technician and subject.

Just making good recordings of anything and assembling them for any specific
purpose is one thing, but to do it well, with care and understanding is a
necessary technical and emotional art required by 'sound mixers' for all types
of media and use. I will advise my students to listen to this NPR Radio piece
before they make-up the next 'birdsong atmos' for their Chekhov showcase and
see what differences I can detect in the recordings they produce.
Thanks again for sharing your world with us.
Bring on the Baikal Teal!
