Nice stuff Walt!

A quick flip through a book and cd say's it's most likely a Great
Basin Spadefoot.

That is very close to where I am heading to explore soundscapes and
natural quiet this weekend.  Have any suggestions for quiet places
without cows in the Warner Valley area?
