I had a chance to listen to the files today

'bird' 1 - red squirrel
bird 2 - downy woodpecker
bird 3 - northern waterthrush
bird 4 - downy woodpecker drumming
'bird' 5 - red squirrel

I grew up birding in the Maritimes, so am quite sure of the IDs

Many woodpeckers can be identified by their drumming. In this case, the
downy drum is a fair bit slower than the hairy's would be. As well, I'm
guessing files 2 and 4 were recorded in the same area - there is a
yellow-bellied flycatcher ('pu-weee') calling in the background of both
cuts.

Thanks Martyn and to everyone else who replied,

I'll delete the sound files tonight to free up the space.

I gather from another current thread that there are participants in this
site who have more space than Yahoo for uploading files. Maybe there's some
point in doing a notice to that effect as a sticky (if that's the right
word).

Anyway, I'm much obliged.

Cheers,

Rory
