I understand what people mean when they use the term so am ok with it.
That's the essence of communication, so what's important. I have to
admit I'm not totally comfortable with it, but really can't think of
what I'd substitute right now.
In one sense when you go off the top of digital you have saturated your
available bits, much in the same way that you saturated the iron
particles in tape. You have used all you have.
I believe Rob was the first to use the term in the group and no one
objected then.

Actually since each of us records different sites with differing goals
with differing sets of equipment you must decide for yourself.

I certainly hope so.
Do not interpret someone expressing a opinion or describing how they do
something as a order for how you must do something. It's data you
interpret in deciding for yourself how you will do it.
You make a excellent recording it's still excellent no matter how you
did it. That's the bottom line I guess.
