Agreed but then it does give you a good clean boost in level, for those
noisy mic amps, and then you can add your own PIP with a battery if you
are using a PIP mic. It would seem a way around the noisy amp problem
on some units plus overcoming the lack of power for some PIP mics by
adding a battery.
