Klas is probably doing more, but the issue of the lousiness of recent
mic inputs PiP starving the mic for current can be addressed using a
regular concert bootlegger's battery box which involves three
components per side

substitute C1, C2 for 47uF 16V with the + end pointing to the mic/6k8
junction. You can plug this into either the mic input, or the line
input if your signal is as loud as a rock concert...
