A few days ago, Klas Strandberg of Telinga Microphones reported that
he had found a way to improve the quality of recordings made by the
Edirol R-09 and the Telinga EM23 microphone.

Klas wrote:

"I have a good trick now for a low noise omni, EM23 + a circuit,
fitting the R-09. But it's in a little plastic box incl. a 9-volt
battery. It's almost a mic / line amp. You connect it either to the
line or the mic input.

You can forget running the R-09 low noise on Plug In Power."

(group message 24018)

Of course, you'd need two EM23 mics to record in stereo.

I don't know if Klas has made his new external circuit and power
supply into a product for sale yet.

I suspect that Klas' new power supply would improve the quality of
recording with many recorders that can't provide a decent level of
plug-in power (Hi-MD recorders and the M-Audio Microtrack 2496 come to
mind).
