Also one thing to notice about the DPA8011, is that DPA only lists  
the frequency response from 100Hz to 20kHz.

I conversed a bit with them about this, and it turns out the DPA does  
go much higher than that, just that it's not flat necessarily above  
Message: 20k. 
Subject: It actually rises from about 20k to 50k by a few dB if I  
remember correctly, and then drops again a bit, but if memory serves  
me, it does go above 80k. I don't think it goes up as high as 250  
like the CR.

The only interesting thing is the that CR shows self-noise specs,  
which means it's probably not a piezo element? Maybe Kent can comment  
on self noise with the CR.

I can say that the 8011 has pretty much no noise that I can hear at  
all (as I suppose one would expect with basically a 'contact' mic).

But if the CR isn't a piezo, does that mean it'll pick up sound in  
air? The DPA can't record in air.
