Oops, forgot to add, I think these numbers are at best good to +/- 2 dB. Probably +/- 3 dB more accurately reflects the true precision of these sort= s of measurements. I truncated all values at +/- 1, but if there were a forma= t command to do even numbers I would have done so. And then there is the problem of the "sound" of a mic (including frequency= response, how the response changes with azimuth angle, dynamics, etc.) whic= h no one can express as an absolute description of how the mics sounds. To my mind we do the best we can with numbers, then ask someone who has recorded with the mics for a while. Bruce Wilson KF7K http://science.uvsc.edu/wilson |
