Hi, Ramsay,
Nice choice in mics!
The K6 is the power module for the ME62, so the MD recorder
doesn't enter into it. But perhaps the AA battery in the K6 is
dead, or sdrawkcab. Since you say "most" recording attempts,
however, I'm thinking you should check all your connections, and
make sure everything is tight and fully inserted, etc. Perhaps
there is some inconsistency in how you're operating the MD
recorder?

Subject: Re: [Nature Recordists] for comparison
Hello,
I am new to recording and have just purchased a Sony HiMD
MZ-RH10, Sennheiser
ME 62 (with k-6), Telinga parabola, and AKG K240 DF headphones.
I thought the
minidisc was supposed to power the mic!
I get nothing through the headphones and nothing is getting
recorded on the
disc during most recording attempts. (Only once did I hear my
voice doing a
test recording). I suspect maybe I need some kind of phantom
power to drive the
mic and headphones. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Lost in the weeds,
Ramsay
