That's always been my problem too, and why I've stuck with MD mostly;
the capacity you can carry without a single point of failure is still
closest to the sweet spot.

I do wonder if the CF versions will have more battery life -- I don't
know what the ratio of draw from the HD vs the phantom powering is. If
you got 3x the life it might be worth it to use CF and one of those
little boxes that'll rip CF to an iPod etc. Maybe. :/

PS personally I'm hoping to see 32 GB cards in the next coulple of
years, if I could carry 100 GB in flash cheaply (cough) spread over
several cards it'd do me well for a short trip!
