The thing about recording above human hearing response which deteriorates with age in all of us however critical we think our hearing is, is that we need the higher frequencies as harmonics to give timbre or character to what we hear. The recorder may well capture frequencies above 20K but not flat' or within the plus /minus 3dB or whatever the manufacturer try to sell it product on. If those frequencies at either end of the spectrum were not there in howeve= r small amounts everything would sound unnatural compared with our intellectual understanding of actuality. As for playback and hearing everything, any system is only as good as its weakest part! cheers BigRogSound |
