I remember now and thanks for further detail. Seems like one would
face substantial work-arounds with this iRiver unit. I fear one might
have to jump all the way down to $30 mono dictation recorder to
justify not spending another $130 for a RH910. The critical features
I need are: a stereo mic input, manual gain and a stereo headphone
output.   Rob D.
