Hi John--
I believe there is discussion on Oade Bros forum about limited
headroom on the 670 mic pre.

Seems similar to what has been reported several times. Cause is still
unexplained to best of my knowledge. Several folks have reported it
does not seem to happen with sharp MD's. So maybe use your Sharp when
its loud?

This happening with another PIP mic on HiMD could be consistent with
Curt's theory that something is going on with high level in using
PIP power on the HiMD mics pre. I have not gotten bottoming out with
HiMD using the Rolls- just as you experienced. Rob D.
