I believe in extra-terrestrial life, but that doesn't mean that if we had
the ability to call them here, it would necessarily be good for them or us.
In the case of birds, they are creatures inhabiting this planet of ours
already and without the mental capacity to see how dangerous humans can be
and are to life. Man's outward journey of scientific classification pales in
comparison to the inward journey of self discovery. If my inward journey
weaves together in perfect synchronicity with the finding of new wonderful
life forms, I would take that fabric and make it poetry and hope that the
pronouncement of that serenity would breath new life for all to wonder.
