Ed,
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. I'll look for
the Bias software, specially Soundsoap. I was thinking
in buying Soundtrack Pro because it was as a bargain
in my University Library ($49) but after your
recomendations, I'll look for more options first.
Thanks, you saved me!
I think this is one of the good things of been in
touch with experts, sometimes we can get professional
help. Thanks naturerecordists!
I'm not an expert on this field but I'm really
interested. I'm a Biologist, Mexican (yes, I'm really
bad writing and expressing myself in English). I'm
working with migratory birds crossing the Gulf of
Mexico. A huge part of my work is monitoring birds,
mostly acoustically, so that's why I became interested
in this field. I work in the Yucatan Peninsula Mexico
and in Southern California, US, so if anybody in this
group need some recomendation about something related
to the Yucatan area (maybe places to do recordings),
I'll be happy to help, if I can.
I'll see you soon

Antonio,
IIRC Soundtrack Pro is primarily designed for
musicians. That's why
most of the reviews are by musicians.
Check out Peak and Deck, from Bias. Both are good
products, but have
different capabilities.

For noise reduction, you might also want to look at
SoundSoap (also
from Bias).
