I don=92t believe you can up-load your files using the portadisk, you have =
to
do it "real time"
I use a Motu828 to do mine and I believe Walter Knapp uses a Roland A30?
Three is no facility to do this digitally.

Subject: [Nature Recordists] Transferring files from HHb Portadisc to PC

With help from several of you, I have purchased my equipment and
just finished my first recordings on my vacation, which sadly is now
over. I now want to transfer my recordings from my Portadisc to my
PC but haven't been able to do this.

Here is a little info. on what's happening:

I am using a PC that is running Windows XP. When I connect the
Portadisc to the PC using a USB cable, nothing happens. The
information in the Windows Control Panel tells me that the computer
is recognizing the Portadisc, that it is enabled, and that it is
working properly. What little documentation there is on this in the
Portadisc's User's Guide makes it sound as though once the device is
plugged in, some software should run and walk me through the steps
to transfer the files, but it doesn't. I've checked the Microsoft
web site for updated drivers on this device, but I'm told there
aren't any. I also have Adobe Audition 1.5 but am not sure if this
can be used in transferring audio to the computer.

Can anyone help me discover what I'm missing here?

Thanks,

Dana
