Scott--
Your questions show that you are seriously,
considering getting into recording with better
gear. That's good. You will get some excellent
advice on this list if you stick with it.
People will not jump to advise you about which
pair of mics and recorder to buy for several
reasons that will become apparent to you if you
continue using this list as a resource. Some more
information about your interests is very helpful:
What do you like to record?
How would you like to record (micing style)?
What future goals do you have for your recordings?
What kind of monitoring do you use or have access to?
What is your budget for mics, recorder and sealed cup headphones.
What computer platform are you on?
These will help focus the options for us. Thanks! Rob D.
