I guess it depends on what one is prepared to mess with. I find them
no more hassle than my MKH pair.  There are no commercial mounts that
will work for the NT1-A in the field that I know of.  I  have mine in
separate home-made mounts/zeps-- mostly cut-away light guage 4" PVC
pipe ~7" long.  The total length with screen mesh added is 11".
Because of their 50% greater weight, I'm supporting each with four of
those silicony bracelets you may have seen people wear. (The shock
that comes with it is too stiff for field work).  I use the same,
long fur zep material as with my mkh's with no additional wind issues
presented. Once suspended adequately, the handling noise is
comparable to the MKH's as well. An NT1-A/NT2-A M-S package would be
quite a bit larger and heavier than the MKH 30/40.  Rob D.
