The Lunatec V2 and V3 are amazing preamps, made by Grace Designs. The
V3 has a 192k, 24bit A/D convertor in it, otherwise they're the same.
It might not be quite as quiet as the 722 (which is saying a lot,
because the Lunatec is a VERY quiet preamp). But it sounds wonderful.
I find the 722 accurate, but somehow a tad lifeless compared to the
Lunatec, which just sounds more spacious. Of course, the Lunatec is a
$1500 preamp, and that's all it does, so one would expect it to sound
very good.

But it's not worth the trouble carrying both the 722 and the Lunatec,
it's not THAT much better. But it served me well with an HHB Dat
machine. I suppose I'll keep them, they're not worth enough used
probably to justify it.

Tim
