Beyond the particular mic, location makes a difference. Height is a
location parameter.
The SASS itself is dependent on the particular mic used for it's sound
characteristics. The SASS/MKH-110 I have has a different sound than
the SASS/MKH-20.
That's not to say that one is "better" than the other, just different.
For some uses one or the other will produce a sound I like better. And
that's the bottom line, you choose a mic that gives the sound you like.
