Haven't heard much discussion about the mic 2496 on this list. I'd
definitely get some feedback about performance of the unit in
circumstances that match your needs. I've heard of it being used for
concert recording mostly. Its been a while since I looked Len's specs
and maybe they've been improved, but the MP2's noise was considerably
lower.  As far as quality difference  of the TCD8's a-d vs an
outboard's a-d, I find that differences between speakers can easily
nullify such subtlety. Rob D.
