To my ears the noise is a bit masked by the mp3 artifacts, but evident.
Apart from that I like the recording. The occasion sure wasn't that pleasing. 
You have my sympathy.

As to your trip to Florida, I could only suggest some places that I've been to 
in the Naples area, in and around the Everglades National Park and in the Big 
Cypress Reserve. I would generally go for wetlands. I could imagine that 
agricultural noise in the Orlando area would make dusk/evenings more 
interesting than dawn/mornings.
