I use a Sony MZR70 minidisk recorder. If I connect the output of it to my sound card and transfer files from it into my computer, I'm going from digital to analog, right? What if I record from a microphone directly into my Laptop. Is that a digital recording? And has any device been created yet that will connect between my Minidisk and my computer so that I can transfer digital recordings directly without going to analog? My Minidisk recorder came with an optical cable. Is there any way I can use that to transfer digital data into my computer?
