Northern Cali Recording Locations

Hey Everybody,

I've been lurking here for a while, this is my first
post though. I'm sure there will be plenty in the
future as my general knowledge of identifying animals
by their sounds is low.

But at the moment I'm looking for suggestions about
spots to record in Northern Cali, preferably doable in
a day trip starting in SF. I'm thinking of heading up
to Marin and out towards the ocean (I forget what that
park is called). But after that I don't know the area
too well. 

I'm looking for lots of winds, crickets/insects,
birds, caves, just about anything.
