Hi David,

Yes and no.

You say 'transferred to my PC in analogue', if that is true, then 16
bits will be enough.
But if you at any point in time will transfer digitally, you'll be
sorry that you hadn't gotten a 24 bit card.
The difference in price is not that much, is it?

If you want a nice soundcard, with some starters software, the EMU
0404 costs about 99 US dollar and comes with a software package that
includes: Steinberg Cubasis 4.0 (simple audio midi sequencer
supports VST), Steinberg Wavelab Lite 2.5 (great audio editor), SFX
Machine LT, Minnetonka diskWelder BRONZE trial (5 trial burns)

Personally I would get the 0404 if I had to buy my first soundcard
today; it is good and comes with enough software to get you started.
