Well, I've hooked them up to a 9 volt battery without ill effects (but  
that was using "expendable" Radio Shack capsules). I've hooked Sankens  
up using 5 volts, but I didn't look at any specs - I read about it on  
the internet (so it MUST be true!).

At one point I was planning to try to shove the phantom->PIP  
electronics into an XLR connector, but that plan is on the back burner,  
right after "remodeling my house" ...
