Hi there,

I think some may be interested. I happened to have a pair of MKH800 (through
eBay) and did some M/S recordings on bats, shrew (which I believe it has
freq> 20k), frogs and some ambience. These were recorded in 24/96 with a
Lunatec V3. I am sorry that after I recorded, I am too busy to listen to in
more detail to provide comments or hands on experience. One interesting
phenomenon is about the shrew. When I listened in 24/96, I feel it has
clipping but it was not shown on meter. But after I downsampled it to 48k,
it sounds just fine. Anyone can tell me why? I don't think I am an alien
capable of hearing ultrafrequency. Headphone distortion? Mine is Sony
MDR-V900.

For those who are interested in listening to, you may want to listen to
24/96 wav file format instead of mp3. But the file would be very large and
I have no way to upload them. If anyone can figure out, maybe I could upload
some short bat and shrew samples when I get time.

Cheers,

Po-Jen
