Thanks these all appear to be good backup programs for windows and it
looks like Mac people can get an actual mirror.

The problem I have is that backup will not work for this application.
The principal program I am trying to protect is very hard on a hard
drive and we are seeing a high disk failure rate. The program is
propriatary and rented, but never owned. It is based on military
security. The data is tied to the program which itself changes with
use and that that is tied to changes in the operating system so no
copy can be made. Then of course everything being written is
encripted. If the program does not call home once per month it is
locked up and made unusable. I have confirmed that the call home does
not verify the program status from the prior call home. Backup is not
suppose to be possible as part of this security. The bad part is
that when a drive goes bad no other computer can restore what was
lost. The end product is a large pdf file that is just a printout
and not a work in progress that can be changed. I will say it sure is
secure and even if you steal my laptop you could never get to the
data.

To keep things in context to this group it would be nice to have a
mirror where re-installation of audio editing programs with all the
individual settings, as well as those in progress multi-tracks being
mastered can be re-installed with the original sound files as a true
work in progress.

Oh well, I will keep looking for a true mirror.
