Also, Dr. Bill Gardner of WaveArts (www.wavearts.com) is working on a plug-in that will spatialize monaural sound sources for use in surround sound productions. He tells me that he has a beta version almost available for PCs, with Mac to follow. I understand that this software will allow one to move a monaural recording in 2D (3D?) sound space, adding the correct time delays and phase shifts, and also processing with the appropriate HRTFs (= head related transfer functions).
