Sorry Rob. What I meant was literally the file list - text data. So you've
got a quick reference on what files have been used in a project.

Agreed. I don't see pedestrian laptop recording as practical. But in vehicl=
e
or 5star hotel base - fine. The latter's just wishful thinking. On a
recording trip I tend to sleep a few nights in my vehicle, old Daihatsu
4trak, (if good recording weather) then to B&B or hostel for a night or two=
.
I don't know how others manage but I find staying in normal accommodation
does not gel very well with pre-dawn starts. Even many camping sites (eg
around the Mediterranean) lock you in for the night for security.
