Dan; Thanks for the reply. It is kinda big and heavy compared to other mics. About 24" in diameter and 5 lbs or so according to the specs. It may be one for video - I didn't know they made special ones. I thought a Big Ear was a Big Ear. I did not get any documentation with it. I did notice that there was no way to mount it to a stand. I could take a Cartellini clamp and a grip head and get the job done I would thing. I would think it would hold up even in a med. wind, but by that time I probably wouldn't want to record anyhow. It will wreck the foam on the bar though. What is the difference between using the low noise condenser omni and using a lav - say a tram? Thanks again Dan.
