Walt:

The background frog sounds sort of like a River Frog snore. Would that be
possible?

Out and about again:

You pickerel frog experts give a opinion about the one odd caller (and I
don't mean that feathered dinosaur ;-) Have not had that call from
pickerel frogs down here before. Might be a Southern Leopard frog as
there were a few others, but was calling with the pickerels.

Mic: SASS/MKH-20 up on the high tripod into Sound Devices MP2. Recorder:
HHb Portadisc. This was recorded with close to the max gain I can get
from the system. Frogs were 100' plus away. Filtered with Elemental
Audio System's 'Eqium' plug in to remove the near constant low frequency
noise from airplanes as much as possible. (this setup as used can pick
up a high flying airliner for a good 5-10 minutes after it's overhead)

Sorry about the size, mp3 did not like to code the insects anything like
right, even though the Portadisc got them right. Kept going larger until
they were kind of right.

For those purists that want to listen to it at the "correct" volume, cut
the level down until you can just barely hear the insects. Georgia's
insects are hardly started. Oh, and the quiet rustling in the recording
is not us, that's wildlife too.

Recorded in Screven County GA in a wildlife preserve near the Savannah
River. About 11:30 PM last night.
