Which RME interface is Rob using? I also use a very portable laptop setup f=

or
2ch recording. I have a Powerbook G4 combined with the M-Audio Firewire
410. The really neat thing about this setup is that phantom power is suppli=

through the firewire Bus. The Pre-amps are good for the money and it record=

24/96. Best of all it costs =A3299 and has an additional 2 line inputs, 8 o=

s for
surround monitoring, 2 indepedant headphone outs with analogue level
controls, s/pdif coaxial and optical i/o, 2 firewire ports for daisy chaini=

ng (also
midi i/o). This is an interface I would recomend for desktop use as well. T=

he
laptop solution is of course significantly cheaper.
