Just to be explicit: plug-in power is supplied to my knowledge exclusively
on mic inputs, never on "line in" line level inputs.
You *can* however get outboard mic preamps in a very small portable form
factor (for example from www.microphonemadness.com) that will both power
the mic, and let you take a pre-amplified output directly into an analog
line in. With this additional part you could use a plug-in powered mic
with the MZ-R500/501 it seems.
I am currently using a similar preamp made to match my Sonic Studios mics
and going into the line-in on consumer MD decks.
