latest iPod firmware can record via mic

This week Apple announced a firmware update that gives the iPod the 
ability to record via a microphone.  Input is captured in WAV format.

Belkin is the first manufacturer to take advantage of the new 
firware.  They announced a $50 voice recorder, including a built-in 
mic and a tiny speaker for playback.  

Belkin's product is not the solution for attaching your Telinga to an 
iPod.  But the new firmware makes it possible.  I'm guessing it won't 
be long before an interface for external mics becomes available.
